Cutting out individual shapes, lines, and marks from inked sheets of paper, the pieces are assembled into a composition by arranging and affixing them to the surface of an 8x8" square. The compositions are layered, cutout marks with a significant amount of newly generated imagery aiming to pose a challenge of creating a cohesive and harmonious abstract composition from scratch. There are freedom and looseness to the lines and marks that do not exist in the same way when we set out to make abstract art. This final product utilizes continuity, rhythm, and closure to create a harmonious composition assembled out of separate, individual pieces.
